Moon Council is a quarterly women’s circle rooted in presence, honesty, and shared inquiry.

Facilitated and curated by Beana Bern, these seasonal circles invite women to gather in council as we explore the themes, challenges, and invitations of the season. Together, we create space for reflection, contemplation, witnessing, ritual, and meaning making.

Limited to 25 women and held just four times yearly, Moon Council honors the depth, intimacy, and wisdom that emerges when women gather intentionally to listen, speak, and remember what matters most.

For those seeking a deeper communal and spiritual experience within the larger rhythm of Rootstock, Moon Council offers a place to pause, reconnect, and be nourished by the power of circle

Arrival

Please be on the land between 5:00–5:45 PM. You’re welcome to arrive anytime after 5:00 PM to settle in, connect, and enjoy the land before circle begins. Please come fed or bring your own meal, along with anything needed to consume and dispose of it. Head directly to the Belly upon arrival.

If you delight in feeding the circle, feel welcome to bring simple finger foods to share. Please avoid anything requiring plates, bowls, utensils, preparation, or cleanup. Offerings can be placed in the room outside the Belly before circle and any leftovers should be taken home at the end of the evening.

Start Time & Late Policy

Moon Council begins promptly at 6:00 PM and is typically held in the Belly (Rootstock’s 30′ yurt), though seasonal gatherings may take place at one of the earth temples on the land.

Please do not arrive later than 6:15 PM. Late arrivals can be disruptive to the integrity of the circle and will be asked to join us another time. Council generally concludes between 9:00–9:15 PM. Please plan to stay for the full gathering.

Facilitation & Participation

Moon Council is facilitated and curated by Beana. While each gathering will have a seasonal theme and container, participants are invited to contribute to the richness of the circle through their presence, reflections, songs, poems, prayers, or other simple offerings. If you feel called to share something, please let Beana know upon arrival.

Reciprocity & Energetic Exchange

Moon Council is offered on a sliding scale to support accessibility while helping sustain the spaces, land, and infrastructure that make these gatherings possible. If you have the means, please consider contributing on the higher end of the scale to support those who may need a little extra assistance. If cost is a barrier, please reach out to hi@rootstockretreat.com. We will do our best to remain generous and inclusive.

Who Is This For?

Moon Council is open to all women. While this is not a space designed for children, young women who have begun their moon cycle are welcome. If you’ll be bringing a young woman, please let us know ahead of time. Please remember that these circles *always* fill with a waitlist.

Togethering & Moon Council

Moon Council follows Togethering, Rootstock’s monthly community gathering, and we hope you’ll consider joining us for both.

There is something beautiful about spending the day sharing meals, tending fires, meeting new people, reconnecting with familiar faces, and participating in the life of the Hill before gathering together in council that evening. Togethering and Moon Council are designed to complement one another, creating a rhythm of community, connection, reflection, and belonging.

Whether you come for the day, the evening, or the entire weekend, we invite you to consider how these gatherings might weave together into a richer and more connected experience.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the gathering are non-refundable. These circles are intentionally small and often fill, so please provide as much notice as possible if you’re unable to attend so that another woman may be welcomed into the circle.
