Maris Harmon
Maris is a partner, daughter, friend, and ritual artist. After working as a high school humanities educator and traveling the world, she felt the call to focus her gift for teaching more specifically in the realm of the ritual arts. She saw how the layers of obfuscation created by empire, capitalism, and modernity encrust our souls with amnesia and anesthesia, as well as how ritual ways hold the potential to bring us back to remembrance. Maris creates ritual experiences for humans to create tiny tears in modernity’s fabric of reality and reconnect to something more universal, primal, and true.
Currently, Maris focuses on facilitating grief ceremonies, animist forest circles, and vision fasts. She lives in Burlington and can be followed through otherwaysofbeing.substack.com or @other_ways_of_being on instagram.
